Senior Software Engineer, Backend

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own scalable backend services and APIs for healthcare data and workflows.
- Optimize database queries and data models for performance and reliability.
- Evaluate technical tradeoffs in system design and maintainability.
- Integrate AI tools into backend workflows.
- Write clean, well-tested production-grade code.
- Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Contribute to engineering standards through code reviews and technical discussions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend ownership.
- Deep expertise in Java and/or Python.
- Proven experience with system design and architectural tradeoffs.
- Solid fundamentals in testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Fluent use of AI tools in daily workflows.
- Experience with cloud deployments, preferably on AWS.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
