Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical architecture for the SSCS Add-On.
- Lead design and implementation work for SLSA Level 2 and Level 3 capabilities.
- Architect integrations with Sigstore services for signing workflows and verification.
- Design backend services that support package policies with high performance.
- Review merge requests focusing on security and architectural consistency.
- Mentor Backend Engineers to elevate technical standards.
- Collaborate with Product and Security teams on technical decisions.
- Contribute to open source and industry discussions on supply chain security.
Requirements
- Strong experience building backend applications with Ruby on Rails.
- Professional experience with Go for backend or infrastructure services.
- Proven track record of leading architecture across multiple systems.
- Experience writing clear technical proposals and documentation.
- Solid security mindset with a focus on trust and risk reduction.
- Familiarity with software supply chain security concepts.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills for distributed teams.
- Interest in GitLab's values and building secure product capabilities.
