Responsibilities
- Design and engineer large-scale systems capable of handling high transaction volumes.
- Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Mollie’s engineering teams.
- Lead technical initiatives from architecture design through implementation.
- Resolve complex technical problems using creative problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Create documentation, share domain knowledge, and establish optimized processes.
- Own code quality, engineering excellence, and best practices across systems.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience developing large-scale applications.
- Experience with Java or PHP is preferred; experience with Go, C#, or Python is also valued, with willingness to work with Java.
- Proven experience leading architectural decisions and technical initiatives and delivering end-to-end solutions.
- Experience optimizing processes and working effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex problems and solutions clearly.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a product-first approach.
- Ability to take accountability, proactively identify improvements, and address technical or business-related issues.
- Ability to consistently deliver customer value while balancing speed and quality.
