Responsibilities
- Develop user interfaces, workflows, and APIs for DHS geospatial systems.
- Design, build, and maintain applications integrating geospatial data platforms, databases, and enterprise systems.
- Support geospatial application development and maintenance across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Develop scripts and automated workflows for data processing, validation, and integration.
- Integrate geospatial data services and APIs.
- Translate mission and business requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional teams.
- Test, debug, and troubleshoot applications for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Participate in system design, development, implementation, deployment, configuration, and maintenance across the software development lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with DHS standards, security requirements, and system architecture guidelines.
- Create documentation covering system design, development processes, and application functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least three years of application development experience.
- Experience developing user interfaces, workflows, and APIs.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
- Experience working with APIs and integrating REST-based services.
- Experience supporting geospatial or data-driven applications and systems.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle practices, testing, and deployment.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Ability to collaborate across technical teams and stakeholders.
- Federal government or DHS program experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Esri ArcGIS or other geospatial platforms is preferred.
- Cloud environment and cloud-based data platform integration experience is preferred.
- Scripting and automation experience for data-processing workflows is preferred.
- Candidates must be willing to undergo a government-issued background investigation.
