Base Salary

$175k - $240k/yr

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases for the scientific discovery platform.
Contribute to frontend features and workflows in collaboration with design and frontend teams.
Build and extend data pipelines that support AI agents and research workflows.
Implement monitoring, observability, and automated testing for system reliability.
Troubleshoot issues across the stack and proactively improve system quality.
Collaborate with engineering, design, and research teams to ship new AI-driven features.
Grow as a software engineer within a collaborative team focused on AI for science.

Typically, 5+ years of software engineering experience with backend and frontend development exposure.
Strong proficiency in at least one backend language, preferably Python.
Experience designing and consuming APIs, with knowledge of FastAPI or REST; GraphQL is a plus.
Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React or Next.js and modern web development practices.
Working knowledge of relational or document databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized environments like Docker.
Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and basic automated testing.
Strong curiosity and a growth mindset in a fast-moving environment.
