Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for software solutions across cloud platforms and scientific instrumentation.
- Design and implement full-stack, AI-enabled applications using modern programming languages, frameworks, and database technologies.
- Integrate generative AI and LLM capabilities, including prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, embeddings, and AI service APIs.
- Translate project and portfolio management business requirements into reliable solutions involving analytics, workflow automation, dashboards, and enterprise integrations.
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices, software testing, quality assurance, version control, and modern development tools.
- Support the growth of other engineers, guide teams effectively, and help shape the technical direction of critical projects.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a standard Monday-Friday office work schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus eight years of experience, or an advanced degree plus eight years of experience, in professional software development with proven technical leadership experience.
- Preferred education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong full-stack software engineering skills with Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, SQL, and modern web frameworks.
- Hands-on experience integrating generative AI and LLMs, including prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, embeddings, and AI service APIs.
- Understanding of cloud-native architecture, containers, observability, security, production deployment, and software quality practices.
- Experience with project and portfolio management data, analytics, workflow automation, dashboards, and enterprise system integrations.
- Experience with software testing principles, quality assurance practices, version control systems, and modern development tools.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and database technologies.
- Strong system design, problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, and business-requirements translation skills.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate cross-functionally, and guide teams effectively.
