Responsibilities
- Develop a web application with a modern front end and REST API for searching and analyzing manufacturing data.
- Design and maintain unified relational data models supporting device, component, optical engine, system, BOM, supplier, inventory, and unit-level traceability data.
- Build automated pipelines ingesting test, process, yield, spreadsheet, log, and partner data from manufacturing sites.
- Implement authentication, role-based access control, tiered data visibility, validation, monitoring, backups, retention, and documentation.
- Build auto-grading, component binning, correlation, data-mining, charting, dashboard, and yield-analysis capabilities.
- Automate recurring reports, dashboards, presentation exports, notifications, BOM workflows, cost roll-ups, and inventory-shortage alerts.
- Work with engineering, test, operations, and supply-chain stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize features.
- Train end users and drive adoption of the internally built platform across multiple sites and time zones.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on project experience.
- At least 2 years of experience building end-to-end web applications using a modern front-end framework and REST API.
- Strong Python plus JavaScript or TypeScript experience, including automation scripts, data-processing jobs, and data-visualization code.
- Solid SQL and relational data-modeling skills, including schema design, complex queries, and multi-system data integration.
- Practical understanding of authentication, role-based access control, and web application security.
- Strong written and verbal communication, self-direction, attention to detail, and judgment with confidential data.
- Preferred experience with internal tools, dashboards, data platforms, hardware or manufacturing organizations, and semiconductor, photonics, or electro-mechanical manufacturing.
- Preferred experience with Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, statistical process control, JMP, Minitab, Python statistics libraries, BOM/MRP data structures, dashboarding, cloud deployment, Docker, Git workflows, CI/CD, cross-site data transfer, user training, and organizational adoption.
