Responsibilities
- Design and implement core banking product and ledger logic for accounts, deposits, lending, fees, interest, limits, delinquency, postings, and lifecycle events.
- Build and maintain accurate, auditable, idempotent ledger-posting logic aligned with accounting principles.
- Develop APIs and integration services for payments, KYC, CRM, GL, analytics, fraud, notifications, and downstream systems.
- Implement event-driven integrations with robust error handling, retries, reconciliation, and observability.
- Write unit, integration, and contract tests, including financial edge cases and reconciliation scenarios.
- Support CI/CD-based releases, controlled environment promotion, production troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, runbook improvements, and technical documentation.
- Partner with product owners, subject-matter experts, engineering, operations, finance, risk, security, and regulatory teams to deliver compliant banking capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience developing APIs or integration services in regulated enterprise environments.
- BA/MBA in IT or relevant experience, with 10+ years in integration technology and core banking listed as an alternative qualification.
- Direct Thought Machine Vault experience or experience delivering core banking products on a comparable modern core or ledger platform.
- Strong understanding of double-entry accounting, ledgers, postings, balances, reconciliation, financial controls, and regulatory reporting.
- Experience implementing banking features such as fees, interest, limits, repayment schedules, lifecycle events, payments, card processing, or transaction monitoring.
- Experience with financial-logic test automation, golden datasets, reconciliation harnesses, or simulation testing.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python, Java, Kotlin, Go, or a similar language, with API and integration experience using REST or gRPC.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, version control, software design principles, testing practices, cloud-native environments, containers, and CI/CD.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker; observability using logs, metrics, tracing, and SLOs; and production incident response.
- Knowledge of banking domains such as SEPA, SWIFT, card processing, AML/KYC, customer onboarding, data privacy, GDPR, operational controls, and policy-as-code.
- Familiarity with data platforms, SQL, Snowflake or BigQuery, ETL/ELT pipelines, service mesh, zero-trust patterns, TOGAF, enterprise integration architecture, or API product management is valued.
- Strong communication, relationship management, problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, integrity, commercial judgment, and stakeholder-partnership skills are required.
