Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop end-to-end proof-of-concept Pixel experiences across Android applications, system services, and framework modifications.
- Establish technical strategy and best practices that maximize rapid iteration and define engineering boundaries for eventual productionization.
- Partner with UX Research, Product Management, and Hardware Engineering to translate ambiguous concepts into prototypes.
- Analyze and integrate on-device AI/ML models, new sensors, and advanced hardware features into prototypes.
- Lead zero-to-one exploration of next-generation user experiences and help shape the long-term Pixel product roadmap.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- 3 years of experience building prototypes and proof-of-concept models.
- Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience in a complex, matrixed organization, including technical leadership, project-team leadership, and setting technical direction.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience with camera, video, and audio systems and technologies.
- Preferred: Experience with Android applications, the Android operating system and frameworks, or other major mobile operating systems.
- Preferred: Ability to build things with AI.
