Responsibilities
- Design and build resilient APIs, libraries, and tools for Brex engineers and operations.
- Own functionality and scalability features from inception through deployment.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and production operations.
- Uphold high standards and improve consistency across codebases, infrastructure, and processes.
- Build customer-facing products that drive business impact and contribute to Brex’s long-term technical vision.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience working as a software engineer.
- Experience creating libraries and tools for engineers and operations.
- Experience building and designing scalable backend systems.
- Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with software engineering development cycles.
- Experience with backend programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Python.
- Ability to maintain high standards for oneself and the team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Written and spoken English proficiency or fluency; interviews will be conducted in English.
- Experience collaborating with product, design, and operations experts is a bonus.
- Familiarity with functional programming languages is a bonus.
- Strong writing skills and a proactive approach are bonus qualifications.
Benefits
- Hybrid work in the São Paulo office with at least two coordinated office days per week, increasing to three days per week starting February 2, 2026.
