Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for strategic customer implementations of big data projects, from architectural and security design through development, deployment, and automation.
- Architect production workloads, including end-to-end pipeline load performance testing and optimization.
- Provide cloud infrastructure and security expertise for the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
- Support Solution Architects with advanced technical sales work, including proof-of-concept content, workload sizing, and custom architectures.
- Increase community adoption through tutorials, training, hackathons, and conference presentations.
- Contribute to the Databricks Community and serve as a technical subject-matter expert.
Requirements
- Pre-sales or post-sales experience working with external clients across multiple industries.
- Experience designing, setting up, and maintaining production-grade big data systems as a data platform engineer, including Spark.
- Experience designing cloud infrastructure and services on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including cloud security, networking, connectivity, routing, segmentation, and identity and access management.
- Hands-on experience automating cloud infrastructure with Terraform or cloud-specific resource management tools such as ARM or CloudFormation.
- Experience designing and implementing security lakehouse or security data platforms on Databricks for SIEM augmentation, security analytics, threat hunting, and advanced detections.
- Ability to design performant, scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-based big data solutions.
- Knowledge of engineering development tools and practices including testing, automation, and orchestration.
- Production programming experience in Python, Scala, SQL, or R.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Databricks Certification is preferred.
- The role requires travel up to 30% when needed.
