Fullstack Growth Engineer II (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data models in Ruby on Rails.
  • Own and deliver growth initiatives from concept through launch and iteration.
  • Build customer-facing product experiences across the Homebase platform.
  • Contribute to React and TypeScript applications to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Design, build, and evaluate experiments to improve activation, engagement, and retention.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering teams to identify opportunities.
  • Leverage analytics and experimentation data to inform product decisions.
  • Implement and improve experimentation frameworks and growth tooling.
  • Use AI tools to enhance engineering velocity and team effectiveness.
  • Drive technical quality through testing, code reviews, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor junior engineers through collaboration and feedback.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of software engineering experience building customer-facing web applications.
  • Strong experience with Ruby on Rails for backend systems.
  • Working knowledge of React, TypeScript, and modern frontend practices.
  • Ability to contribute across the stack while maintaining a backend-first focus.
  • Strong product sense and ability to evaluate tradeoffs from customer and business perspectives.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve engineering workflows.
  • Experience collaborating with Product, Design, and Data teams.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate in ambiguity.
  • Ability to collaborate in person at the Toronto hub on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
