Base Salary
$195k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop full-stack software for key software initiatives supporting DOD and Intelligence Community contracts.
- Build, deploy, and operate distributed backend services and mission-critical cloud systems.
- Translate stakeholder and customer needs into engineering requirements and participate in design and requirements discussions.
- Ensure reliability, observability, security, and performance across production systems.
- Own services and system components through the full development lifecycle, including operations, monitoring, and on-call support.
- Use generative AI to improve software quality and security.
- Collaborate with radar systems engineers, signal processing engineers, data scientists, software developers, product teams, and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Active U.S. TS/SCI clearance and experience delivering missions for DOD or Intelligence Community customers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience building cloud-based systems at scale.
- Demonstrated experience building, deploying, and operating distributed backend services.
- Experience using generative AI for software development.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or a similar programming language.
- Understanding of architecture patterns, service boundaries, message-driven workflows, and API design.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and containerized deployments.
- Expertise with relational databases and message brokers such as Postgres, MySQL, Kafka, or SQS.
- Experience with observability and CI/CD practices.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
- Preferred experience with production frontend applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, or comparable web technologies.
- Preferred experience deploying into U.S. federal systems, using Kubernetes, or operating in high-availability or mission-critical environments.
- Background in mathematics, physics, AI/ML, or orbital mechanics is preferred.
- Eligibility to obtain required U.S. ITAR authorizations.
