Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, integrate, and deploy secure, scalable, high-performance market data applications and platforms.
- Translate business requirements and product roadmaps into applications and tools for reference data, security master, and terms-and-conditions databases.
- Evaluate architectural approaches, frameworks, technologies, and design solutions while documenting architecture and workflow proposals.
- Develop coding, architecture, design, and automated testing best practices, including automated test frameworks for continuous integration and deployment.
- Automate the operation and management of MSCI market data and support monitoring, telemetry, reliability, scalability, and fault-tolerant production processes.
- Collaborate with Research, Product Management, Operations, Data Content Services, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Architecture stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or a related science or technology field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in some or all of Python, Perl, C/C++, Linux/Unix, Git version control, PL/SQL, Microsoft Azure, and DevOps pipeline development.
- Proficiency with SQL and relational databases, including Oracle, SQL Server, Azure SQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with big data environments and cloud storage technologies such as ADLS and Snowflake.
- Experience building market data systems covering financial products, instrument reference data, legal entity hierarchies, corporate fundamentals, corporate actions, benchmark/index data, and instrument and derivatives pricing and settlement.
- Experience with large vendor market data architectures or products such as LSEG/Refinitiv DataScope, Onsite Fixed Income-EJV, Markit, IDC, S&P, and Moody’s, or multi-asset-class benchmark data from JPM, FTSE, iBoxx, Merrill, or Bloomberg/Barclays.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Codex; familiarity with MCP or reusable Skills is a plus.
- Strong ability to work independently, along with strong communication and presentation skills.
