Base Salary
$144k - $204k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain high-throughput pipelines for image, video, and time-series data supporting robotics applications.
- Develop, troubleshoot, and improve scalable backend services and long-term system architectures.
- Benchmark classical, modern AI, and hybrid approaches and integrate suitable solutions into production services.
- Fine-tune foundation models, benchmark performance, and manage inference deployment workflows.
- Drive backend architecture decisions and communicate technical trade-offs with cross-functional teams.
- Manage simulation stacks and environments for robotic testing and synthetic data generation.
- Integrate internal and external systems through APIs, agent-based workflows, AI context protocols, and secure authentication layers.
- Build resilient bridge layers connecting backend services to web components, including failure handling and fallbacks.
- Mentor engineers, improve engineering tooling and processes, and coordinate with researchers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience with C++ and Python focused on backend services and ML inference pipelines.
- Experience building high-throughput backend data pipelines for image, video, and time-series streams.
- Strong knowledge of fault-tolerant backend architectures, model serving, inference optimization, and MLOps orchestration tools.
- Hands-on experience with web frameworks, API design, security protocols, and ML inference integration layers.
- Experience evaluating, benchmarking, and integrating open-source and third-party AI, classical, or hybrid software into production.
- Experience resolving ambiguous technical requirements, complex system issues, and long-term architectural problems.
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams, researchers, and external vendors to deliver production software.
- Experience managing simulation stacks, hardware/software bridge layers, and continuous integration workflows.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and driving technical best practices.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or above, hardware acceleration and model-infrastructure integration, responsible AI practices, prompt or context engineering, agent orchestration, backend or ML infrastructure community contributions, data analysis, and scalable fault-tolerant backend solutions.
Benefits
- Annual base salary of $144,000 to $204,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
