Base Salary
$179k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Diagnose performance bottlenecks in targeted autonomous-driving behaviors and define solution roadmaps across data, modeling, training, and reinforcement learning.
- Design data-mining strategies and behavioral metrics to generate insights, measure progress, and guide model fine-tuning and alignment.
- Design and deliver reinforcement-learning algorithms, supervised fine-tuning strategies, and reward structures to optimize on-road driving policies.
- Partner with infrastructure, perception, and motion-planning teams to implement solutions and transition productionization to system owners.
- Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, machine learning, robotics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a machine learning engineer, motion-planning engineer, or data engineer in LLM/VLM, autonomous-driving, robotics, or computer-vision environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and deep-learning frameworks such as PyTorch, with experience training and fine-tuning large-scale models.
- Experience with reinforcement learning, reward design, and policy optimization.
- Strong understanding of traditional planning concepts, edge cases, kinematic feasibility, and vehicle physics.
- Ability to navigate ambiguous projects, dynamically shift focus, solve vertical problems, and deliver validated on-road impact.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to balance technical trade-offs.
