Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS, along with on-premise and portable edge infrastructure.
- Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Automate deployment processes and support application, container, and operating system deployment, scaling, and management.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems while improving reliability, scalability, availability, and performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure.
- Use configuration management and deployment tools, including Terraform, Ansible, Git, and Flux.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and team leadership while remaining hands-on.
- Support the customer onsite in Columbia, Maryland and help open or close the workspace as needed.
Requirements
- A current TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with CI Polygraph and U.S. citizenship are required.
- Requires 9+ years of DevOps engineering or software development experience with a related bachelor's degree, or 7 years of relevant experience with a related master's degree, or a high school diploma or equivalent with 13 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms and AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda.
- Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Linux system administration, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to develop with Python, Bash, or Go and familiarity with Git and Flux.
- Experience with application, container, and operating system deployment, scaling, and management is required.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto is desired.
- Must be able to work onsite in Columbia, MD five days per week and accommodate schedule changes.
- Experience as a technical lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams is required.
