Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Windows kernel-mode drivers using WDM and KMDF for virtualized environments.
- Optimize the Windows-on-KVM stack by implementing enlightenments and specialized VirtIO drivers.
- Debug low-level interactions between the Windows kernel, virtual hardware abstraction layer, and KVM/QEMU host.
- Build and maintain internal diagnostic tools for monitoring driver health and performance.
- Collaborate with Linux Kernel and KVM specialists to align host-side features with guest-side driver requirements.
- Identify and resolve race conditions, memory leaks, and blue-screen failures in virtualized contexts.
Requirements
- Expert-level C/C++ systems-programming skills, including resource management and concurrency.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Kernel internals, including memory management, I/O request packets, interrupt handling, and the Windows Driver Model.
- Expert proficiency with kernel debugging.
- Understanding of x86 virtualization extensions, including Intel VT-x and AMD-V, and guest operating system interaction with hypervisors.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot silent failures and performance regressions at the software and virtual-hardware boundary.
- Familiarity with the Linux Kernel and subsystems such as the Scheduler, KVM, and QEMU is a plus.
- Experience with Linux-side debugging tools such as gdb, perf, or ftrace is a plus.
- Contributions to open-source virtualization projects or Windows-Linux interoperability layers are a plus.
