Responsibilities
- Contribute to Android platforms powering automotive infotainment systems.
- Technically lead teams and drive architecture concepts and decisions.
- Develop and customize Android platform software, including frameworks, HALs, OS extensions, services, and device configurations.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle for infotainment and entertainment applications.
- Perform complex troubleshooting and resolve platform issues.
- Execute Android version migrations and Google compliance testing.
- Develop middleware solutions and work with multithreading, IPC communication, service binding, and OS concepts.
- Collaborate with teams and use AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.
Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of professional experience is required.
- At least 8 years of experience in the Android platform domain.
- 15 years of full-time education and a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field.
- In-depth knowledge of AOSP and AAOS, with high proficiency in C++ or Java.
- Expertise in Android Framework customization, device configurations, custom Android HALs, Android services, broadcast receivers, content providers, AIDL, and HIDL.
- Expertise in C++ 11, C++ 14, and C++ 17, plus advanced Linux, Core Java, and Android NDK knowledge.
- Experience with Android OS extensions, SDK Addons, Android version migrations, multithreaded programming, middleware, unit testing, and Android architecture concepts.
- Expertise with Git and Gerrit, advanced GitHub knowledge, and familiarity with Java/Kotlin, design patterns, MVVM, IPC, and thread handling.
- Advanced knowledge of Google compliance testing, including CTS and VTS.
- Preferred experience with media and phone applications, navigation, home screen customization, cloud communication, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, CAN integration, object-oriented design patterns, and Android Jetpack.
- Strong communication, collaboration, learning, and complex-systems problem-solving skills.
