Responsibilities
- Design and build new features in a form-heavy React single-page application.
- Own complex onboarding forms, branching validation, cross-field dependencies, and multi-step flow state.
- Use TanStack Query for server-state architecture, caching, invalidation, stale policies, and route-loader prefetching.
- Integrate identity verification, document upload, and OpenAPI-generated API clients.
- Implement roles and permissions in both the interface and API integrations.
- Thoroughly test software using Vitest, React Testing Library, and MSW against a coverage gate.
- Make, document, present, and defend architectural decisions for the domain.
- Build in security, reliability, observability, and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility from the start.
- Review code, improve engineering standards, and mentor less experienced engineers.
- Use Claude Code appropriately and exercise judgment about AI-assisted development.
- Communicate clearly with engineers and non-engineers and take ownership of customer outcomes.
Requirements
- Strong production track record building modern single-page applications with React and TypeScript.
- Experience with complex form engineering, branching validation, cross-field dependencies, and long-running multi-step flows.
- Deep experience with TanStack Query, including query-key design, cache invalidation, stale policies, and route-loader prefetching.
- Experience with third-party integrations, identity verification, document upload, and OpenAPI-generated API clients.
- Experience implementing roles and permissions across the interface and API.
- Strong testing practice with Vitest, React Testing Library, and MSW.
- Experience building accessible interfaces to WCAG 2.1 AA using Tailwind and a Radix/shadcn component system.
- Real experience building software with AI tooling.
- Ability to make architectural decisions, communicate clearly, challenge proposals constructively, and mentor other engineers.
- Useful but not required: Auth0 or a similar identity provider.
- Useful but not required: Sentry or similar error tracking and observability tools.
- Useful but not required: Azure Static Web Apps and Azure DevOps or comparable CI/CD experience.
- Useful but not required: Vite build and bundle optimization, including chunk splitting, bundle analysis, and source maps.
- Useful but not required: regulated financial services, KYC/KYB, client onboarding, Storybook, WebSockets, or SignalR experience.
