Base Salary
$180k - $245k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and operate usage event ingestion, validation, metering, aggregation, and summarization pipelines with reliable, idempotent, exactly-once processing.
- Integrate billing platforms and implement rating, plan management, invoice generation, and handling for overages, credits, plan changes, and enterprise commitments.
- Build Salesforce and RevOps integrations for customer accounts, contract terms, entitlements, and billing status.
- Develop customer-facing Console billing and usage views, dashboards, and self-service flows for plan upgrades, payment methods, and invoice retrieval.
- Own billing-adjacent API key, token, authorization, entitlement, and plan-based access-control systems.
- Build internal analytics pipelines and dashboards covering usage trends, cohort behavior, conversion funnels, and revenue metrics.
- Implement reconciliation, anomaly alerting, and self-healing mechanisms across usage events, summaries, billing records, and payment processor data.
- Instrument billing systems for operational observability and collaborate with Finance, RevOps, Product, and Growth teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building and operating billing, payments, metering, or financial data systems in a SaaS or usage-based pricing environment.
- Strong backend engineering skills in Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Go, or a similar language, with willingness to work across the stack.
- Deep experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, including schema modeling, query optimization, and high-volume event processing.
- Hands-on experience integrating billing or subscription platforms such as Stripe, M3ter, Metronome, Chargebee, or Zuora, as well as CRM systems such as Salesforce.
- Understanding of usage-based pricing, metering patterns, proration, overages, commitments, credits, and multi-currency billing.
- Experience building reconciliation and data integrity systems for financial accuracy at scale.
- Strong communication skills for partnering with Finance, RevOps, Product, and Growth teams.
- Security-conscious approach to authentication, token management, and access control.
- Nice to have experience with M3ter or Metronome, custom metering systems, product-led growth patterns, event-driven architectures, revenue operations or ASC 606 revenue recognition, SOX-relevant billing controls, and analytics or BI tools such as Looker, Metabase, or dbt.
