Responsibilities
- Analyze OpenStack-derived services and surrounding components, including APIs, configuration flows, service dependencies, database usage, and operational assumptions.
- Use AI coding agents to navigate large multi-repository codebases, reconstruct call flows, analyze interfaces, and generate technical documentation.
- Diagnose build, dependency, container, runtime configuration, and reproducibility issues for selected services.
- Create service maps, dependency notes, API summaries, risk observations, handover artifacts, and onboarding documentation.
- Collaborate with DevOps, testing, security, and architecture specialists to validate findings and create actionable engineering backlog items.
- Identify technical debt, maintainability risks, hidden coupling, missing documentation, and cases requiring expert review.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, cloud platform engineering, DevOps-oriented development, or technical software handover roles.
- Strong Python skills and experience with at least one backend or systems language such as Go, Java, C, C++, or Rust.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools for codebase exploration, documentation generation, refactoring support, or build issue triage.
- Good understanding of OpenStack-derived architectures, cloud control planes, distributed services, APIs, container delivery, CI/CD, and Linux-based environments.
- Familiarity with OpenStack components and Kubernetes integration patterns is highly valuable.
- Strong analytical discipline for distinguishing AI suggestions from evidence-backed findings and producing concise technical outputs.
- Ability to work in confidential enterprise environments with high standards for traceability, documentation quality, and structured handover readiness.
