Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain installation packages and deployment solutions for Windows and Linux.
- Develop installation tools, automation, and scripts using C#, PowerShell, Bash, and C++.
- Use Windows Installer and InstallShield for installation packaging, configuration, and deployment.
- Use AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, code review, and documentation while validating generated recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define installation requirements, deployment strategies, and technical solutions.
- Support deployment environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Integrate installation and deployment processes with Git, Perforce, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Support SQL and NoSQL database configuration and connectivity requirements.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex installation and deployment issues through root-cause analysis.
- Develop automated tests and validation processes and identify opportunities to improve installation processes through automation and modern engineering practices.
Requirements
- 7–12 years of software development experience, preferably in software installation, deployment, build, release, or related technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems and software installation, configuration, and deployment concepts.
- Strong experience with Windows Installer and InstallShield or comparable enterprise installation technologies.
- Proficiency in one or more of C#, C++, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automation, and software engineering best practices.
- Ability to use and rapidly adopt AI-assisted software development tools and critically validate AI-generated code and technical recommendations.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies and their installation and configuration requirements.
- Experience with Git and Perforce.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
