Base Salary
$230k - $390k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable, low-latency data platform foundations
- Build real-time eventing infrastructure and streaming and batch ETL pipelines
- Develop and operate an Iceberg-based data lakehouse
- Own interactive OLAP querying, orchestration, and experimentation systems
- Develop long-term agent memory and reusable Customer Data Platform primitives
- Implement optimization loops that personalize agent interactions and improve business outcomes
- Build analytics products, data visualization tools, alerting systems, and exploration interfaces
- Ensure data systems are trustworthy, fast, cost-aware, highly operable, and easy for engineers to use
Requirements
- 4–7+ years of hands-on experience building and shipping production systems or products
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale data systems using technologies such as Spark, Flink, Trino/Presto, and Iceberg or Hudi
- Strong backend and distributed systems fundamentals in Go, Scala, or Python
- Understanding of storage engines, query plans, data serialization formats, data governance, lineage, testing, and data modeling
- Experience shipping data products such as analytics dashboards, data visualization tools, alerting systems, or exploration systems
- Full-stack engineering experience with TypeScript/React and a service layer such as Go
- Practical experience with ML-powered product features such as personalization, recommendations, or classification systems
- Strong product sense for information architecture, performance, API design, empty states, and explaining complex data
- Preferred experience with Kafka or Kinesis and real-time data processing
- Preferred experience with ECharts or D3.js and performant reusable charting components
- Preferred production experience with recommender systems, multi-armed bandits, or ranking
- Preferred track record of leading complex technical projects or mentoring engineers
