Responsibilities

Embed with portfolio company GMs, operators, and customer success leads to understand operating models and identify where software can create leverage.
Select two or three high-impact workflows and build the integrations, prompts, evaluations, workflows, and UI surfaces needed to deploy an agentic loop.
Operate deployed systems by monitoring outcomes, tuning prompts, adjusting autonomy tiers, and handing stable systems to portfolio operations.
Extend Beacon's core platforms when necessary to meet portfolio company needs.
Bring deployment patterns back to headquarters and codify them into reusable playbooks for other companies in the same vertical.
Serve as Beacon's technical relationship owner for the portfolio company GM and establish expectations and trust.

Strong generalist engineering ability with full-stack TypeScript or Python on the backend, React on the frontend, and fluent SQL.
Experience shipping real production software using foundation models, including writing evaluations, deciding when to fine-tune, and managing agent autonomy.
Ability to work autonomously in unfamiliar codebases and operate as the primary Beacon engineer at a portfolio company.
Customer-oriented approach focused on operators' actual business problems and measurable outcomes.
Ability to read a P&L and prioritize operational and financial leverage.
Strong written communication for wedge memos, GM updates, deployment retrospectives, and reusable playbooks.
Preferred: prior forward deployed engineering experience.
Preferred: private equity, consulting, or M&A diligence exposure, especially post-LOI integration cadence.
Preferred: familiarity with Iceberg-based data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks and event-driven systems.
Preferred: experience building or operating production agentic systems, including evaluations, autonomy gating, and outcome tracking.

Meaningful fraction of work is spent on-site at portfolio companies, with the remainder at Beacon headquarters.
