Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own forward-deployed customer engagements from technical discovery and problem definition through implementation, validation, and production adoption.
- Design and implement automation, configuration, provisioning logic, integrations, diagnostic tooling, and reference implementations alongside customer engineers.
- Provide technical depth on Windows developer environments, WSL, containers and virtualization, developer tooling, build performance, CI, inner-loop latency, identity, security, and endpoint policies.
- Diagnose platform, enterprise configuration, tooling, performance, and reliability problems using telemetry, traces, profiling, and comparable analysis methods.
- Bring customer evidence to Windows, WSL, developer tooling, and security product teams; drive fixes, supportability improvements, and telemetry additions through shipping.
- Convert recurring customer solutions into scalable playbooks, reference configurations, tooling, and guidance, and transfer expertise to field, support, product, and other FDE teams.
- Demonstrate measurable adoption through production workloads, telemetry, customer evidence, or agreed success measures while maintaining trusted customer relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience involving coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: production experience building or deploying LLM-powered systems, including agents, prompt and context engineering, evaluation frameworks, tool and MCP integration, and deployment at scale.
- Preferred: solid Python programming ability plus at least one of TypeScript, C#, Rust, Go, C, or C++, with a record of shipping production software.
- Preferred: customer-facing engineering experience such as forward deployed engineering, field engineering, technical consulting, escalation engineering, solutions architecture, or technical founding.
- Preferred: knowledge of the Windows developer platform, including WSL, containers and virtualization, developer environments, toolchains, build performance, local inference, hardware acceleration, and enterprise security and policy controls.
- Preferred: experience diagnosing performance and reliability issues using telemetry, traces, profiling, Windows Performance Analyzer, or comparable tools in systems not originally written by the candidate.
- Preferred: ability to turn a solution for one customer into a repeatable solution benefiting many, represent customer needs in product planning, and influence engineering priorities with technical and business evidence.
- Preferred: familiarity with WinUI, WPF, .NET desktop, and application modernization.
