Responsibilities
- Build and take ownership of a mission-critical backend service in the Revenue domain.
- Develop pricing and discounts capabilities and improve member experiences.
- Design and implement APIs, event-driven systems, external integrations, and scalable backend services.
- Break large monoliths into smaller components and services and contribute to new service development.
- Monitor deployed code using Kibana, Grafana, and Datadog, and own product-team SLIs/SLOs.
- Collaborate through GitHub pull requests, code reviews, cross-team prioritization, and feedback.
- Add tests and features to continuously tested and deployed applications.
- Participate in an on-call rotation every six to seven weeks.
Requirements
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful services, event-driven systems, external integrations, and robust APIs.
- Experience with or willingness to develop expertise in Go; Go experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read, fix, or refactor Ruby code.
- Familiarity with software engineering, distributed systems, systems architecture, service-oriented architecture, and event-driven architecture.
- Understanding of enterprise architecture patterns and the advantages and disadvantages of microservices.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and concepts and drive meaningful improvements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and engage in constructive, respectful technical discussions.
