Senior Software Engineer | Cortex Detection team
Palo Alto NetworksResponsibilities
- Design and build data analytics and threat-detection capabilities for cloud security.
- Scale and maintain resilient backend systems processing millions of events per second.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL data stores to support complex modeling and large-scale performance optimization.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, deep-dive research, mentoring, and design reviews.
- Collaborate with Product Management, R&D leaders, and Security Researchers to define requirements and technical solutions.
- Own the software development life cycle and production systems while driving high-velocity delivery and operational improvement.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend software engineering experience.
- Deep proficiency in modern backend programming languages.
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes and microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and performance optimization for massive datasets.
- Experience scaling high-availability environments and improving operational excellence.
- Experience leading technical projects or mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
- Track record of owning production systems and resolving high-stakes engineering bottlenecks.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in high-scale SaaS or cybersecurity environments is preferred.
- Deep proficiency in Go or Python and practical GCP experience are preferred.
