Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable APIs and backend services using .NET Core and C#.
- Implement authentication, authorization, entitlements, and access-control systems.
- Design fault-tolerant distributed systems and apply event-driven architecture patterns.
- Collaborate on data ingestion and enrichment pipelines that feed search indexes.
- Develop and operate search infrastructure using Apache Solr and/or OpenSearch, including schemas, indexing, query parsing, relevance tuning, replication, and high availability.
- Diagnose search performance issues such as slow queries, indexing bottlenecks, and relevance degradation.
- Build and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for repeatable deployments.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools and review generated code before merging.
- Perform unit, integration, and performance testing and participate in code reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and work experience.
- 5–10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in .NET Core and C#, including asynchronous programming and dependency-injection frameworks.
- Experience designing and developing secure, scalable APIs for internal and client-facing systems.
- Experience with authentication, entitlements, and access-control systems.
- Strong AWS experience and knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps/CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Codex.
- Familiarity with Apache Solr, OpenSearch, or Elasticsearch and search relevance concepts is preferred.
- Experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK, Docker, ECS, or EKS is preferred.
- Knowledge of event-driven services and observability tools such as SNS, SQS, EventBridge, CloudWatch, Datadog, or Splunk is preferred.
- Knowledge of search applied to construction or AEC datasets is preferred.
