Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality software for Treasury trading, balance management, and liquidity reporting within an agile development lifecycle.
- Define and evolve component architecture and contribute to department- and bank-wide architectural decisions.
- Develop backend components for real-time report generation, batch processing, ETL, stream processing, and downstream-system integration.
- Build scalable and maintainable applications using Java and Big Data technologies.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, automation, emergent design, performance tuning, and robust engineering practices.
- Work with cloud platforms, relational databases, data and full-stack teams, and shared engineering frameworks.
- Maintain and execute automated tests, including unit, integration, system, performance, and ETL testing.
- Lead and collaborate across teams, manage and mentor team members, and help others adopt new techniques.
- Use AI tools to improve productivity and workflows while applying responsible judgment to data and AI outputs.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering and programming experience with Java; Python experience is required and Scala is a plus.
- Experience with backend development, high-volume data processing or ETL, stream-based processing, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Spring, Spark Streaming, Spark SQL, Elastic MapReduce, DataFrames and Datasets, Impala or Hive, and Hadoop or other Big Data technologies.
- Experience with relational databases, ideally Oracle Exadata, and desirable knowledge of Oracle and PL/SQL.
- Experience with continuous integration, ideally TeamCity, and software versioning using Git Flow.
- Experience working in an agile delivery environment, ideally Scrum or LeSS.
- Comfort maintaining and executing tests using JUnit, automated testing tools, and white-box, black-box, system, performance, and ETL testing practices.
- Knowledge of reactive patterns, Test Driven Development, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular.js, Business Objects, or Tableau is desirable.
- Proven ability to lead teams, mentor others, communicate effectively, and influence business stakeholders.
- Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent certification and/or relevant work experience.
- Enterprise technology experience in Finance, Risk, Treasury, banking, trading, liquidity, funding, capital, or collateral management is advantageous.
