Responsibilities
- Design and build core developer platforms, including SDKs, APIs, runtime abstractions, tooling infrastructure, and developer-facing services.
- Own end-to-end delivery of products that improve developer productivity, time-to-market, artifact quality, and integration velocity.
- Define reliable, general-purpose platform primitives and lead technical strategy, roadmap, API design, and cross-team alignment.
- Set engineering standards for architecture, design, observability, and operational excellence.
- Drive developer activation, integration velocity, artifact quality, and ecosystem breadth metrics.
- Mentor senior engineers and increase the team’s technical depth.
Requirements
- 12+ years designing, building, and operating production systems, with significant platform or infrastructure team experience.
- Experience leading the design and multi-year operation of developer platforms used by 100+ external teams.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, reliability, API design, performance, fault tolerance, and observability.
- Strong systems engineering experience in production microservices environments at scale.
- Experience building general-purpose platforms used by other engineers and evaluating effective versus leaky abstractions.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership through design, coding, production debugging, and iteration based on feedback.
- Ability to make platform tradeoffs with incomplete data, including when to generalize, specialize, build, integrate, or finalize designs.
- Understanding of developer activation funnels and feedback loops that turn builders into core contributors.
- Familiarity with LLM-based architectures or agent orchestration patterns is preferred.
- Experience with enterprise developer environments, including authentication, sandboxing, compliance, and multi-tenancy constraints, is preferred.
