Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve reusable GitLab CI/CD components and templates.
- Design and optimize Java and Maven application pipelines for builds, automated testing, security scanning, and artifact publishing.
- Improve pipeline performance, reliability, and maintainability through caching, parallelization, and efficient runner usage.
- Manage GitLab runners, container registries, package registries, and pipeline artifacts.
- Establish CI/CD standards and support application teams in owning their pipelines.
- Collaborate with Development, Security, SRE, and Platform teams to create reusable delivery solutions.
- Evaluate new GitLab features and emerging DevOps practices.
- Troubleshoot builds, pipelines, runners, containers, registries, and security scanning issues.
- Share knowledge through coaching, reviews, training, and documentation.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, build engineering, or software development.
- Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD reusable components, templates, runners, caching, artifacts, and pipeline rules.
- Hands-on software development experience, preferably with Java and Maven-based applications.
- Experience building and improving CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, security scanning, and artifact publishing.
- Experience with GitLab security scanning, Docker, container registries, and package registries.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, Bash, or another scripting or programming language.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across application builds, pipelines, runners, containers, and security scans.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD security, secrets management, and software supply-chain practices.
- Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, GitOps, Argo CD, or Terraform is an asset.
- GitLab certifications and experience with regulated or mission-critical platforms are assets.
