Responsibilities
- Architect software solutions for embedded edge devices with emphasis on performance, security, and reliability.
- Develop communication interfaces between devices and backend systems.
- Define coding standards, workflows, quality assurance practices, and documentation processes.
- Design and execute automated, unit, integration, and other software testing strategies.
- Implement embedded security measures such as encryption, secure communication, and event logging.
- Lead code reviews and collaborate across the software development lifecycle.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools and improve products and processes against KPI goals.
- Mentor junior and intermediate developers in best practices and edge-computing design.
- Maintain workflows and documentation using Jira and Confluence.
- Travel internationally to customer sites as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Expertise in at least one embedded-computing language: Python, Go, Rust, C++, C, Java, or JavaScript.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux systems programming and development.
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub or GitLab, plus CI principles.
- Experience developing and implementing software testing methodologies, including unit and integration testing.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, protocols, and cellular connectivity for edge devices.
- Excellent technical writing, documentation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to improve development workflows and productivity.
- Familiarity with IoT and edge-security best practices, including secure communication protocols.
- Proficiency with industrial communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus, and Ethernet is an asset.
- Continuous learning mindset and interest in technology trends.
- Ability to travel internationally to customer sites.
