Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, integration, and verification of embedded and real-time aerospace software.
- Provide architectural direction, technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to software development teams.
- Decompose system requirements into software high-level requirements and lead requirements, design, code, and lifecycle reviews.
- Develop low-level device drivers and software for communication protocols including CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, and ARINC 429.
- Debug complex software issues, optimize performance, conduct root cause analysis, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop Python automation, testing, data analysis, and productivity tools.
- Support CI/CD pipeline implementation, automated build and deployment workflows, configuration management, and release activities.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace software processes and standards, including traceability, verification, audits, and certification deliverables.
- Collaborate with Systems, Verification, Hardware, Quality, and Program teams and participate in Agile planning and review activities.
Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of industry experience in a safety-critical domain, preferably aerospace, with embedded software lifecycle experience under DO-178C processes.
- Aerospace or avionics software development experience and knowledge of DO-178C and certification processes.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or Polarion.
- Experience with Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent DevOps tools.
- Knowledge of software verification, regression testing, structural coverage, static analysis, and software quality processes.
- Exposure to embedded systems and board bring-up activities.
- Strong Python programming experience.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related listed discipline.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, perform complex debugging, and collaborate cross-functionally.
