Responsibilities
- Own and deliver large, complex software projects on schedule, within scope, and to high quality standards.
- Mentor intermediate, associate, and junior developers and provide technical guidance and feedback.
- Design and develop artist-facing tools such as playback tools, asset browsers, and plugins.
- Write clean, efficient, scalable code and lead or participate in code reviews.
- Identify project risks, define mitigation strategies, and contribute to architecture and design patterns.
- Troubleshoot critical technical issues affecting the production pipeline and develop durable solutions.
- Integrate applications with proprietary and third-party tools and systems, including DCC applications.
- Develop intuitive UI/UX for artist-facing tools and plugins.
- Research technical solutions, document code and processes, and contribute to the team’s strategic direction.
- Collaborate with technical, creative, and non-technical stakeholders while fostering a positive team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least four years of software development experience, preferably in a production environment.
- Expertise developing tools and plugins for artist workflows and creative teams.
- Proficiency in Python and experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, particularly Qt/PyQt.
- Experience mentoring junior team members, conducting code reviews, and providing technical leadership.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to propose scalable, long-term solutions.
- Demonstrated experience integrating software with third-party DCCs such as Maya, Nuke, Houdini, and Katana.
- Strong French and English communication skills for collaboration with teams, vendors, or partners outside Québec.
- Familiarity with Git and open-source projects such as OTIO and OCIO.
- Strong knowledge of C/C++ and OpenGL.
