Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable distributed systems forming Crusoe’s security engineering foundation.
- Partner with product security, infrastructure security platform engineering, and specialized security teams to turn business and regulatory needs into automated technical solutions.
- Build high-throughput control integrations and data pipelines that collect, normalize, and analyze security telemetry from IAM systems, logs, vulnerability scanners, and CCM/GRC tools.
- Architect metrics engines, real-time dashboards, and analytics pipelines for compliance health, technical risk, and emerging security threats.
- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and architectural oversight across the security engineering team.
- Integrate and scale automated security checks within CI/CD pipelines.
- Architect and manage PKI infrastructure, SPIFFE/SPIRE identity systems, and HashiCorp Vault secrets management.
- Engineer secure, high-throughput distributed systems using Linux and Kubernetes expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, a related technical field, or equivalent practical job experience.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 5+ years of hands-on production-grade programming experience with languages such as Go or Rust.
- 4+ years of experience deploying, securing, and managing applications at scale on Kubernetes and public cloud environments.
- Proven experience designing, building, and operating high-QPS, fault-tolerant, mission-critical distributed systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with major public cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
- Deep familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code tooling practices.
- Experience designing complex data flows, event-driven architectures, fine-grained access controls, data retention systems, and secure third-party integrations.
- Expertise in distributed systems, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes operators, and platform-level service meshes.
- Deep operational experience managing Kubernetes at scale, troubleshooting clusters, developing operators, and optimizing the control plane.
- Production experience implementing and maintaining identity and secrets management solutions such as HashiCorp Vault and SPIFFE/SPIRE.
- Advanced understanding of authentication and authorization at scale in distributed systems is a bonus.
- Experience building security tools or telemetry platforms in large-scale AI/ML or high-performance computing environments is a bonus.
- Active contribution to open-source security engineering projects or frameworks is a bonus.
