Responsibilities
- Perform complex software research, design, development, and bug fixes across multiple systems.
- Interface with technical personnel and stakeholders to finalize requirements and translate complex product requirements into software designs.
- Write and review detailed specifications for complex system components.
- Design and work with complex data models and multiple data storage subsystems.
- Implement development processes, coding best practices, code reviews, and other applicable tool sets.
- Resolve complex technical issues and collaborate across development environments and methodologies.
- Mentor and train entry-level and less-senior software engineers on development methodologies, optimization techniques, and critical role responsibilities.
- Keep current with new technology developments and communicate effectively with internal and external technology resources.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Strong proficiency with data manipulation language and optimization techniques.
- Strong understanding of normalized and dimensional data modeling principles.
- Strong knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems and industry development best practices.
- Expertise with development languages and technologies including Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .NET.
- Strong research, written, oral communication, and technical collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of test-driven development and applicable development tool sets.
- Ability to write and review detailed specifications and complete complex bug fixes.
