Base Salary

$110k - $140k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver scalable, secure, user-friendly full-stack solutions for property and casualty claims operations.
  • Build and operate distributed services and REST APIs with reliable event-driven integrations, queues, topics, dead-letter queues, and replay or backfill strategies.
  • Develop and deploy solutions using AWS, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and CI/CD release workflows.
  • Support production systems through debugging, log and trace analysis, incident triage, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Contribute to legacy modernization, migration planning, SPA and frontend integration, observability, security, IAM, and PII handling.
  • Use AI-assisted developer tooling and build or operate custom AI agents, agentic workflows, or Model Context Protocol integrations.

Requirements

  • Full-stack software development experience with strong backend and service engineering capabilities.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one of Java with Spring Boot, TypeScript with Node.js, or Python, with the ability to work across the others.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, including reliability, failure modes, retries and timeouts, idempotency, and eventual consistency.
  • Experience building and operating AWS solutions using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB or RDS, S3, SNS/SQS, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, and IAM.
  • Experience designing and maintaining versioned REST APIs with backward compatibility and defined API contracts.
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes/OpenShift, including deployments, services and ingress, configuration and secrets, and rollout strategies.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or similar release-management tooling and safe rollout and rollback practices.
  • Experience supporting production systems, interpreting logs and traces, triaging incidents, and collaborating across teams.
  • Strong object-oriented programming and service design fundamentals.
  • Experience designing, building, or operating custom AI agents, agentic development workflows, or Model Context Protocol servers or integrations.
  • Experience with observability tools including CloudWatch and Dynatrace.
  • Experience with security, IAM, least privilege, encryption, secrets management, auditability, and PII handling.
  • Experience with legacy modernization, strangler patterns, cutover planning, migration, and backfill strategies.
  • Experience supporting single-page applications and frontend integration patterns; Angular familiarity is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

  • Potential starting base salary of $110,000–$140,000, with starting pay based on skills, background, and experience.
