Senior Python Backend Developer

- Own the set-based SQL processing engine inside Python services, including concurrent processing, dynamic work partitioning, dimension keys, and ledger fan-out.
- Own end-to-end batch orchestration covering data-quality gates, currency translation, revaluation, snapshots, period close, idempotency, and resumability.
- Optimize performance and concurrency through transaction boundaries, chunk sizing, deadlock backoff, and connection usage.
- Design services, inter-service contracts, retry semantics, API versioning, and REST APIs for processing, configuration, and reporting.
- Build accounting capabilities including manual journals, unposting, approval workflows, maker/checker rules, suspense, year-end roll, and GL export.
- Integrate message queues with duplicate controls, dead-lettering, and replay.
- Write tests for data-intensive logic and mentor junior backend developers.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of professional Python experience, including asynchronous programming.
- Production experience with FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
- Expert SQL skills and strong PostgreSQL experience, including set-based design, query-plan awareness, upserts, isolation levels, and locking.
- Practical experience designing REST APIs at scale and working with microservice architecture.
- Demonstrated high-volume batch engineering experience, including reducing workloads from hours to minutes and explaining the performance improvements.
- Experience with idempotency, exactly-once behavior under retry, reconciliation, and financial precision.
- MCA, B.E., B.Tech, or M.Tech qualification.
