Responsibilities
- Design and build tools that help Stripe teams develop, launch, and learn from products more effectively.
- Develop AI-native workflows and agents that synthesize context, automate repetitive work, surface risks, and support decision-making.
- Own projects end to end, including identifying problems, prototyping, user testing, impact measurement, and scaling successful approaches.
- Work across backend systems, data sources, internal platforms, and polished user-facing experiences.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, designers, researchers, and cross-functional teams.
- Integrate with platforms such as Kai and Compass and identify new foundational capabilities.
- Apply appropriate security, privacy, permissions, and user-trust practices when handling sensitive internal context.
- Help define the team’s technical foundations, product-development practices, experimentation standards, quality standards, and roadmap.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend and/or full-stack software development experience.
- Technical experience leading the design and delivery of new product experiences from prototype to production.
- Strong full-stack engineering skills, including reliable backend services and polished user-facing product experiences.
- Ability to operate effectively in high-ambiguity environments by framing problems, experimenting, making right-sized technical decisions, and creating actionable paths forward.
- Strong cross-functional and cross-organizational collaboration skills.
- Strong engineering judgment in system reliability, operational excellence, security, and maintainability.
- A product-minded approach focused on meaningful user and business outcomes.
- Preferred: experience with Java, Ruby, and/or TypeScript.
- Preferred: experience delivering user-facing products at Stripe or elsewhere.
- Preferred: experience building 0-to-1 products or taking new capabilities from concept through launch and iteration.
