Responsibilities
- Develop and execute functional, integration, regression, automation, and performance testing for software products and data solutions.
- Design, build, maintain, and scale automated test suites and testing solutions using Java.
- Define effective test strategies and comprehensive test scenarios covering functional, integration, and edge-case conditions.
- Test microservices, distributed system architectures, event-driven systems, and end-to-end integrations across multiple systems and domains.
- Research and implement tools and process improvements that enhance testing capabilities and product quality.
- Plan testing with Product Management, Project Management, Engineering, and Operations teams and verify that products meet requirements and quality standards.
- Report testing issues and results, investigate root causes, and document findings.
- Conduct project reviews, define review criteria, and implement quality-control procedures for project deliverables.
- Participate in pull request reviews for test automation code quality, maintainability, and engineering standards.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice implementation.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, software development life cycle, and process improvement practices.
- Strong Java programming experience with the ability to design and maintain automation solutions.
- Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and scaling automated test suites.
- Ability to define test strategies and design comprehensive functional, integration, and edge-case test scenarios.
- Experience testing microservices and distributed system architectures.
- Strong SQL knowledge.
- Working knowledge of AWS or another cloud platform.
- Understanding of CI/CD integration, including GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Strong analytical, research, and root-cause-analysis skills.
- Strong collaboration skills with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams.
- Ability to learn new tools and technologies with minimal ramp-up time.
- Preferred experience with Kafka or similar messaging platforms, data engineering or data quality testing, Parquet, XML, JSON, and large-scale datasets.
- Preferred familiarity with SHACL or similar schema validation approaches, Spark, EMR, Databricks, New Relic or similar observability platforms, Docker, and other containerization technologies.
