Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction and architectural evolution of the index development service.
- Lead complex initiatives end-to-end across backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure.
- Conduct code and design reviews, coach engineers, and raise engineering standards.
- Partner with product, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to identify problems and deliver solutions aligned with the platform vision.
- Drive system design across distributed services, APIs, integrations, data models, and cloud infrastructure.
- Improve engineering effectiveness, ownership, delivery practices, and trade-offs between speed, quality, and risk.
- Mentor engineers and support their technical and professional growth.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong expertise in common programming languages.
- Experience with Java, Python, and TypeScript.
- Strong system design skills covering service decomposition, API design, integration patterns, data modeling, scalability, reliability, and operational concerns.
- Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience, including deploying, operating, and troubleshooting containerized cloud-native applications.
- Ability to lead ambiguous, business-heavy problem spaces and translate requirements into quality technical solutions.
- Proven ability to simplify complex systems and deliver maintainable, high-impact end-to-end solutions.
- Experience with code reviews, design reviews, CI/CD, testing strategy, observability, incident response, and production ownership.
- Ability to influence engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders without formal authority.
- Product mindset and delivery orientation, balancing technical quality with business value.
- React and TypeScript frontend development experience is a plus.
