Responsibilities
- Assess the current platform architecture, identify technical debt and structural risks, and define a target architecture with a phased modernization roadmap.
- Translate product strategy, business priorities, service expectations, and non-functional requirements into architecture principles and actionable engineering direction.
- Define reference architectures, reusable patterns, guardrails, decision criteria, and standards across applications, APIs, integrations, data, infrastructure, security, observability, and delivery automation.
- Lead architecture and solution-design activities for major platform changes, modernization initiatives, new capabilities, and complex cross-cutting requirements.
- Review technical solutions and provide pragmatic guidance balancing strategic alignment, delivery speed, risk, complexity, and total cost of ownership.
- Guide legacy decomposition, migration, re-platforming, refactoring, integration redesign, and retirement of obsolete capabilities.
- Promote cloud-native and platform-engineering practices, including containers, Kubernetes, automated delivery, APIs, event-driven integration, and self-service capabilities.
- Establish architecture governance, documentation, decision records, diagrams, standards, technology evaluations, and proofs of concept where appropriate.
- Support critical incident analysis and recurring-problem resolution involving architectural causes or cross-platform dependencies.
- Mentor Technical Leads and senior engineers and communicate architecture direction, decisions, risks, trade-offs, and roadmap implications to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in platform, solution, or software architecture for complex enterprise applications and distributed systems.
- Experience defining target architectures and modernization roadmaps for platforms undergoing incremental transformation while remaining operational.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture, containers, Kubernetes, microservices, modular architectures, APIs, integration patterns, and event-driven systems.
- Proven experience as a Lead Architect, Platform Architect, Solution Architect, or equivalent for a complex software platform.
- Track record leading platform modernization, technical standardization, or large-scale architectural improvement initiatives.
- Experience moving between strategic roadmap definition, solution-level design, technical review, and delivery support.
- Strong knowledge of non-functional architecture, including scalability, resilience, performance, security, privacy, observability, disaster recovery, supportability, and cost optimization.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated quality controls, DevSecOps, and production-operability practices.
- Knowledge of identity and access management, secrets, secure integration, software supply-chain security, data protection, and architecture risk management.
- Experience with architecture documentation, modelling, decision records, reference patterns, technical standards, and pragmatic governance.
- Ability to understand application landscapes, identify coupling and migration constraints, and design realistic transition states.
- Experience working in product-oriented, multidisciplinary environments with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Operations, and Support teams.
- Strong product and delivery orientation, stakeholder-management, facilitation, influencing, negotiation, communication, and architectural risk-management skills.
- Professional working proficiency in English and ability to communicate with international technical and executive stakeholders.
- Proactive, collaborative, structured, outcome-oriented, and ownership-driven approach to platform evolution and engineering coherence.
