Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Java and Spring Boot APIs while consolidating legacy code into modern domain packages.
- Own data access, query tuning, JPA specifications, Flyway migrations, and performance-sensitive SQL Server reporting.
- Develop React and TypeScript applications in a pnpm monorepo using modern frontend tooling and libraries.
- Debug and incrementally replace ColdFusion functionality as modern services are introduced.
- Package and deploy services with Docker, GitLab CI, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- Contribute to unit, integration, and UI automation testing.
- Mentor teammates, conduct actionable code reviews, and help define engineering patterns across backend, frontend, and platform work.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful full-stack ownership.
- Production experience with Java and Spring Boot, including API design and service-layer architecture.
- Strong React and TypeScript experience building modern single-page applications.
- Deep SQL Server experience involving query optimization, indexing, and production performance diagnosis.
- Experience working in complex legacy systems and delivering incremental improvements safely.
- Experience with unit, integration, and UI automation testing.
- Strong communication skills for code reviews and cross-functional technical discussions.
- Preferred experience migrating from ColdFusion or similar legacy platforms.
- Preferred familiarity with OpenAPI-first development, contract-driven integration, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tooling, multi-tenant SaaS, distributed tracing, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
