
Software Engineer III
Genius SportsResponsibilities
- Deliver technical and product-focused initiatives for Sportsbook and Risk Management products.
- Build highly distributed, real-time, dynamically scaling systems using modern cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines.
- Innovate, architect, deliver, and maintain production software for betting risk-management products.
- Work across front-end, back-end, infrastructure, testing, and other areas of the service stack as part of a multidisciplinary Agile team.
- Collaborate within a squad model while maintaining ownership of the team’s product domain.
- Apply data-driven experimentation, validation, continuous improvement, and pragmatic problem solving.
- Develop software that enables fast, scalable, and flexible betting decisions while improving operator margins, volatility, uptime, and customer experience.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language, such as C#, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Python, PHP, Golang, or C++.
- Ability to work across the front end, back end, infrastructure, and broader service stack.
- Understanding of software design principles including information hiding, abstraction, module design, cohesion, and coupling.
- Knowledge of testing methodology and the design of high-quality testing suites resilient to implementation changes.
- Understanding of data structures, databases, and caching technologies.
- Ability to clarify complex domains, challenge unclear requirements, and lead alignment conversations.
- Preferred expert knowledge of C# and broader software architecture knowledge for scalable, fault-tolerant, observable microservices and systems.
- Preferred knowledge of source control, continuous integration, pipeline design, containerized workloads, and infrastructure as code.
- Preferred experience operating Kubernetes clusters and building cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Preferred knowledge of RabbitMQ, Pulsar, React, shadcn, Domain-Driven Design, statistics, data engineering, and production-grade Agentic AI.
- Strong desire to learn, collaborate, facilitate, manage time, and communicate asynchronously in a remote-first engineering organization.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
