Base Salary
$220k - $405k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and improve the storage platform for Perplexity products and AI workloads.
- Own reliability, performance, and availability SLOs for stateful systems.
- Define and evolve storage abstractions, APIs, and tooling for product teams.
- Collaborate with AI, infra, and product teams on data models and access patterns.
- Lead capacity planning, benchmarking, and lifecycle management for storage clusters.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in large-scale backend or infrastructure systems.
- Deep hands-on experience with major database technologies like Postgres or DynamoDB.
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and performance optimization.
- Proven track record of owning services end-to-end, including design and deployment.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Go or Python.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
