Responsibilities
- Design and build infrastructure and automation to rapidly deliver web services.
- Troubleshoot system and network failures, application crashes, and infrastructure- or application-level issues.
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
- Perform capacity planning, demand forecasting, performance analysis, and system tuning.
- Monitor availability, latency, and overall system health to identify potential issues proactively.
- Optimize operations and reduce risk through automation and process improvement.
- Construct, configure, upgrade, and monitor systems across environments.
- Manage and troubleshoot self-managed Kubernetes clusters and distributed database systems.
- Introduce new technologies and drive their adoption as a technical expert.
- Practice sustainable incident response and conduct blameless postmortems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- More than 5 years of experience with DevOps processes, culture, and tools.
- Experience deploying and managing large-scale, internet-facing web services.
- Experience measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
- Experience with Elastic Stack monitoring tools and Jenkins-based CI/CD automation.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of self-managed Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience managing and optimizing distributed database systems such as Cassandra and TiDB.
- Experience provisioning virtual machines and cloud services such as Azure or Google Cloud is desired.
- Experience configuring and administering Cassandra, Redis, RabbitMQ, and MySQL at scale is desired.
- Experience with Kafka and globally distributed engineering teams is desired.
- Previous Java application development experience is a plus.
- Strong ownership, customer service, integrity, and clear communication skills.
