Responsibilities
- Design, modify, develop, and implement visual database applications for simulation and training.
- Design, modify, develop, and implement RADAR database applications.
- Develop full-lifecycle 3-D models and terrain environments for simulation and mission rehearsal.
- Install and support software applications and operating systems required for database integration.
- Participate in software review, analysis, testing, witnessing, and certification activities.
- Produce preliminary and detailed design documents, technical design artifacts, and implementation notes.
- Coordinate visual database development and implementation with the Training System Support Center Engineering group.
- Collaborate with Test Engineers, Pilot Instructors, and subject matter experts to evaluate and validate database accuracy and usability.
- Provide technical support for C-17 visual database systems and associated tools.
- Provide project status updates to management and customers and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or a minimum of eight years of related experience.
- At least four years of experience in visual database development or a related technical field.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to U.S. Government contract requirements.
- Eligibility for a Department of Defense Personal Security Clearance is required.
- Preferred qualifications include experience designing visual databases for simulation or training applications.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with terrain-generation tools and 3-D modeling techniques.
- Strong analytical, technical interpretation, documentation, communication, and optimization skills are preferred.
- Ability to climb and use stairs, work near simulator hardware and computer systems, and sit or stand for extended periods is required.
