Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions using Golang, JavaScript, and Python.
- Build and maintain REST and gRPC APIs, integrations, and high-performance backend services.
- Design and support distributed cloud-native systems using Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
- Develop and maintain chaos engineering platforms and reliability-focused tooling.
- Improve system reliability, observability, scalability, performance, and resilience across engineering teams.
- Lead troubleshooting, debugging, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex production issues.
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, post-incident reviews, and preventative remediation.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, security, capacity planning, and infrastructure optimization solutions.
- Develop and validate disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Maintain architecture decisions, runbooks, playbooks, operational procedures, and other technical documentation.
- Mentor team members and provide technical leadership through design reviews and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of software engineering, site reliability engineering, or platform engineering experience.
- Strong Golang programming skills and experience with Python or JavaScript.
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems in cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and system internals.
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms.
- Experience with observability and monitoring solutions, including OpenTelemetry or similar technologies.
- Experience developing APIs and backend services.
- Familiarity with relational and/or document databases.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include Google Cloud Platform experience, chaos engineering experience, Dynatrace or similar observability platform experience, knowledge of C++, Rust, or other systems programming languages, and platform engineering or infrastructure automation experience.
