Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, scalable, high-quality software solutions.
- Build and maintain Java and Spring Boot microservices supporting distributed, resilient, and performant systems.
- Design Kafka event-driven architectures, including topics, partitions, consumer groups, and delivery semantics.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts and ensure software implementation meets design constraints.
- Use AWS data lake and ETL technologies, containerization, and orchestration to deploy workloads.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets to identify patterns and improve coding hygiene, applications, and system architecture.
- Use and help improve enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation workflows, validating generated outputs through review, testing, and secure coding practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Advanced proficiency with Java 17/21+ and Spring Boot for scalable RESTful microservices.
- Strong command of Kafka and event-driven architecture concepts.
- Extensive experience with AWS S3, Glue, EMR, Lambda, Step Functions, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and AWS ECS.
- Strong distributed-systems design skills covering scalability, resiliency, security, and performance.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to critically evaluate and refine their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, and engineering resiliency and security expectations.
- Preferred: familiarity with modern front-end technologies; knowledge of Cassandra; Apache Spark batch and streaming; and Jenkins-based CI/CD.
